If you didn't already know, I graduated from Xavier High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 2020. In June 2026, I was incredibly honored to be contacted by the Xavier Alumni Association and notified that I had been selected as the Xavier Alumni Business of the Month for my business, Miss Matrimony. Receiving the Miss Matrimony Xavier Alumni Business of the Month recognition is an honor I truly do not take for granted.

Building Miss Matrimony has been a dream of mine, and to have my hometown community recognize that journey means more than I can put into words.

Looking back, Xavier High School played such an important role in shaping who I am today. Beyond the education I received, it gave me opportunities to build meaningful relationships, develop leadership skills, and become part of a community that continues to support me years after graduation. Those experiences gave me the confidence to continue my education at the University of Iowa and eventually take the leap to start my own business.

One of my favorite parts of owning Miss Matrimony has been serving couples throughout Eastern Iowa and giving back to the community that helped shape me. Many of the business owners I collaborate with and work alongside, as well as some of my clients, have connections to Xavier, making this recognition feel even more special.

As a small business owner, there are so many behind-the-scenes moments filled with hard work, long hours, and taking chances. Awards like the Miss Matrimony Xavier Alumni Business of the Month recognition serve as a reminder of how far Miss Matrimony has come and motivate me to continue creating unforgettable wedding experiences for my couples.

I am incredibly grateful to the Xavier Alumni Association for this recognition and to everyone who has supported Miss Matrimony from the very beginning. Your encouragement, referrals, and trust in me have made this journey possible, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds.
